FIT Special Collections

I had a pretty exciting meeting with the director of Special Collections at FIT yesterday afternoon! I am very excited to start working on some projects and try to get my thesis back on track.
It is so easy to feel overwhelmed by research, especially when the subject is something you are really passionate about and also something that seems really large and overarching. Rereading my initial proposal last night made things seem less daunting. I am excited to see what feedback I get on it. I am really ready to have this part of my life be complete and be out of academic limbo!

and really, i can't wait to show the world how these two things are sartorially linked.

Atlanta

This past week I went down to Atlanta for the first time since I moved away (not counting one 36 hour trip for a family event, and a few layovers in the airport). It was really wonderful and I think I had forgotten how much I loved that city (and the people I know who live there).

Some highlights included:

this dog. babies. Decatur. a hike to a waterfall and ruins! croquet! cruising in a golf cart. a swiming pool fed by a natural spring. AND KATHLEEN GETTING MARRIED. i did forget to get any chick fil a or boiled peanuts... oh well, in another five years...

Summer

Summer has officially begun in NYC.

I did mean to write about my trip to California, but I never got around to it. It was wonderful, and I am jazzed to see Kristen and Kyle next week at a wedding we are going to in Georgia. I am hoping we get to do some adventuring while we are there.

This past weekend I went with a group of friends to an island, in a lake, in the Adirondacks. It was pretty magical, although thunderstorms did put a damper on some of the fun times.

My summer is filling up with little trips and weekend activities. I am excited for summer fridays and bike rides. Hoping to make some progress on figuring out what I want to be when I grow up, but trying to stay more stress and anxiety free than usual.

I think it is going to be a very hot summer, but i really want to try to be outside as much as possible.

maybe i will even blog more!
